a noun,a person place or thing, or a verb, action. In first John 3:18, John took a few minutes to write down that love is not a word on our tongue, but needs to be put into action. Have you ever looked at it this way, that you could actually give somebody a hug from God today, by doing it yourself! Hug On People!! Have a good Thursday:-)
What's your take on the word love, do you look at it like

When James penned his five chapter epistle, approximately A.D. 60, he tells us in chapter 1 verse five, "If any of you lack in wisdom, let him ask of God!!! And in verse six, James tells us, to ask in faith, nothing wavering. When I read these verses I can't help but think, that if you really want God's help, you ask Him in faith, and then trust His answer!!!! Oh,and here's the tricky part, after you talk to Him in prayer, listen to His answers!!!
Have a non wavering Wednesday!!!!! I was reassured this morning, reading First John chapter 5,the only way to have salvation is to believe in the Son of God for the forgiveness of your sins!! Another words, salvation comes from Christ dying, not our doings. Let's just say,if by our doings we were saved, I think heaven would be a pretty lonely place!! It's what Christ has done, not what you could ever do. He loves you so much He made it a gift, not a job :-) Have a great Tuesday
If you've ever been on a sailboat, you know that there's a
mast and a keel. The mast is the pretty part, gets all the sunshine and lets the sail sway back-and-forth!!! The keel on the other hand, is under the water, never seen, holding that bold upright, with nobody even giving it another thought!! If Christ is the keel of your life, and keeping you up right, give Him a thought today, better yet, give Him a Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great Monday :-) In Hebrews 12:1, Paul got out is fine point Bic pen to write
us a little note, and tell us we've pretty much got to face up to our sins, before we can put them behind us!!! You're not going to go through life real good trying to run the race of endurance and obedience, by carrying around some awful heavy chains. Face up, confess, be forgiven, and get back on track !!!!! Take it from the master of screw ups, it feels fabulous, now that I'm forgiven, let's see if I can go a few miles without messing up again :-) Have a great Saturday!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
When I have couples come to me and ask me to do their ceremony of marriage, the first thing I ask them is,besides being madly in love, give me two other reasons why you want to get married :-) At the table today, ask everybody to give two reasons they're thankful today!!!! In Third John verse 4, John talks about there is no greater
joy than having my children walk in the truth. If you want joy this Thanksgiving, and peace in your heart, do a spiritual check up tomorrow at the table, there is no greater joy than knowing that your children and grandchildren are saved, NONE!! I know you're busy today, I'll make this short, as a parent and grandparent, live your sermons, instead of preaching them, that goes a lot further!! Have a great Wednesday:-) In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon refers to the wind
quite a bit. Being in the landscape and lawn care business, today we're doing fall cleanups, and the wind can be against you on some lawns and with you on others. Solomon tells us in his book, not to try to harness it but to learn how to go with it, Not in the literal sense, but living for God. If you try to go against what God instructs us through HIS WORD,plan on one rough day. Don't take that from me, that's a promise from Solomon, referred to as having much wisdom!!! Hope your Tuesday goes well :-) In the book of John, chapter 9, this is where the disciples asked Jesus, who sinned to make this man be born blind. Jesus reassured them, that the man is blind to provide Him the opportunity to demonstrate His healing and compassionate powers. It's funny how the disciples were curious, when Christ was compassionate. As a believer, I should focus on what can I do to help, rather than to get "the scoop"!!! Rather than be a "busy body" lets be busy for Christ :-) Have a great Monday!!!!!!
Here's something to think about as we approach
Thanksgiving this week, thankful for John 14:1-6!! That of course is where Jesus promises us,that if we receive Him,we're going to be with Him in a really nice house in heaven :-) I used this scripture at my dads funeral over 10 years ago. Along with that promise, on the 40th day after His resurrection, and He had given His disciples their final instructions, He slowly ascended in a cloud to join His Heavenly Father, and to be seated where He will be when we get there, in the throne of righteousness, at the right hand of God!! I say Happy Thanksgiving to that!!! Enjoy your Lords Day :-) |
