Once in a while I'll try to stomach a few minutes of these so-called mega preachers, and watch them on TV. I can't help but think about the fact if the dollar was removed from their work how long would it last. The 12 disciples, and Jesus, never had one bank account, never had flashing numbers on the screen after they would deliver a message, and for X amount of dollars you could get a hanky, a bottle of water,or a bunch of books !!. The true meaning of a Christian ministry is that of giving, not getting, the question today,is what's in it for me,instead of what is the best way I can share the message that has to get out. Don't get me wrong,I know it takes money to function churches and ministries,I totally get that!!! But those churches and ministries run on your hard earned tithe, which is God's money,I don't see it being a steward very well these days!!! Now on judgment day, I'll be in line for many, many, many reasons, but one of them won't be for lining my pockets with what was supposed to go towards furthering the work of God!!!
Jesus knew when he told that rich, young ruler" sell everything, follow me, and give the money to the poor" he couldn't do it !!!! Jesus didn't have an address while here on earth but he's got a pretty good spot now, sitting at the right hand of God. Remember the song "money can't buy me love" can't buy your salvation either!!! Have a great Monday!!!! I'm the richest man on earth by the way, I have Christ in my heart, air in my lungs, and seven grandkids that think I'm A-OK!!! When John the Baptist, was being held in prison to be executed, did you know that he got word out from that jail cell to confirm that Jesus was theTrue Messiah!!!!Jesus had this to say about John the Baptist in Matthew 11:11,he said,"there is not been one risen up greater than him" by truly living for Jesus, which John the Baptist did, along with baptizing the Son of God, Jesus promised him that in heaven,no one would be greater than he!!!!Can you imagine having Christ himself, say that about you, that's why we should live today for him and leave a lasting legacy about how we trusted him while we were here. John's life of course was brutally cut short, but he died knowing who he was going to spend eternity with. That's the best reassurance we can have today, when we ask Christ into our heart, we know where we're going to be for those eternal years, with John the Baptist and Jesus :-) Have a great Lords Day This morning I was reading the story about the four men that carried their crippled friend to see Jesus, because he had faith in Christ and knew Jesus could heal him,if he could just see Jesus!. When they got to the house where Jesus was holding service, the place of course was packed, but that didn't stop their mission !!! They got him up on the roof, cut a hole in it,lowered him down!!! I would have to say that probably caught a few people's attention, getting the saws all out, cutting a hole in the roof big enough to lower a cot through it,and here comes the crippled man. Jesus, astonished it says by all their faith, healed him, told him to pick up his mat, and walk home!!! "Your faith has healed you and made you whole", your four friends that have the same faith, will be blessed also. Then Jesus said, "your faith has made you whole, continue to walk in that faith, and sin no more." Do you have four friends willing to carry you over to somebody's house, cut a hole in the roof, and lower you down so you can meet Jesus. I would keep those friends for the rest of your life. Have a great Saturday :-)
What a friend we have in Jesus!!!! He carried a cross, up hill,to be nailed to it, for your sins!!! In Psalm 37, David is telling us to keep our delight in the
Lord and not to be jealous of others. I remember show and tell, way back in third grade, you always had a few kids that have to get up there and brag about everything and I mean everything. It's not that as a kid we were jealous of each other it's just that we got sick of hearing someone do nothing but brag!! I don't envy anything or anybody, I know that God meets my needs and he has provided for almost 65 years of my life, so I delight in the fact he loves me,and has taken care of me,and my family!!! I don't need anything else in life, like more toys that make me want and then forget his will in my life. Contentment really starts to show itself when we're doing Gods' will and not constantly going after our wants. So this Friday let's try Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart!!! AMEN TGIF !!!! Thank God I'm Forgiven :-) Have you ever looked up John 6:66 :-) it says" from that time, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him". If that doesn't sound like January 26, 2017 I don't know what does!!! Another words, turning your back on Christ!!! As you very well know, 666,is the mark of the beast, which is exactly the job of that individual, to get believers to turn from him!!! Just think of how Jesus must've felt when he was here, walking this earth, knowing he was about to give his life for the sin of mankind!!! Christ knew there would be a time when even believers would doubt and turn their back on him. Doesn't that make you just want to get nailed to the cross on a Friday afternoon, but HE did!! Whenever people talk to me about 666, I counter with my number of 777, seven of course ,means perfection, so you have the Trinity!!!! Enjoy your Thursday!!!!! I remember once at a drive-through,my order came to $6.66, I ordered another fry!!LOL Reading out of Philippians chapter 3 today, I came across something pretty amazing. Someday my resurrected body from this earth, according to Scripture, will be like Jesus's body, another words, I'll be perfected, just like my savior !!
WOW I can't imagine, Ken Hatch, Christlike :-) You talk about power, he definitely has to have it to promise me, the filthy unrighteous rag that I am, TO BE LIKE HIM !!! That's a double whammy "Selah" today !!! You have a great Wednesday, and if you've received him, hang in there, you're going to be perfect, if you haven't, and you want to become a member of this club, ask him into your heart today!!!! Perfect like Jesus :-) This morning in my studies, after almost 65 years of life, I discovered there's a difference between our needs and our wants. Our needs are so simple, the air we breathe, food, shelter and what we can't live with out, water. Our wants are just that, has nothing to do with sustaining life, in fact they can even be in lead to ruin lives!!!! The Bible talks about being able to go without food for a while, but to go without water is impossible. Reminds me of the story of the woman at the well, Jesus told her personally, that he is the everlasting spring of water. He also told her that man cannot live by bread alone. I would much rather have an endless supply of water then a brand-new car, got news for you after about three days around the block in your new shinny vehicle you'd get thirsty. God wants us to call upon him, through his son, and ask for that which is everlasting, and that of course is his son. Just like we need daily food and daily water let's start today, this very day, and make sure our soul and spirit gets fed and watered as well! That of course is done through Scripture, prayer, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ himself. Hope you know Him!!! Let's focus on our needs, the essentials, food, water, shelter, and let's fill up every morning with the everlasting water of our Savior,Jesus Christ !!! There is nothing more refreshing to a thirsty body than a cold, clean, glass of water. Look to your savior as that refreshment, because that is what he compares Himself too!!!!! Oh, here's a little thought, he wants us to take a continuous drink from that well, and not to get dehydrated in sin !!! SELAH!!!!!!!! Have a great Tuesday :-)
Moses wrote the book of Exodus approximately in the year 1491 BC, this was his second book. Chapter 31, gives a great account of what was going on at that time. The tabernacle was being built, Moses describes how beautiful it was, and God made a sign between him and his people, known as the Sabbath!!! The chapter closes talking about the finger of God writing the 10 Commandments!!! If you stop and think about the first pulpit,it was God's people, another words, ones that believed in him and actually followed him. I was talking about pulpits the other day, and how fancy some people have made them, but what God really wants is for us to be his pulpit. That's you and me,in 2017, for us to live a life that doesn't have to be preached but can be seen. God considers that his pulpit, you and me. So once we trust in him and ask Christ into our lives, it's not that wer're on display but we're on a mission, and that is to let our lives say HIS words!!! Very little has to be said if we're living in the fear of God and how we should actually be in representing Him !!! I've said this before, I'd rather see a sermon then hear one!!! If you know HIM,you are a sermon!!!! Be a good pulpit, let your actions for Christ speak your words. Have a great Monday :-)
