In Second Timothy, chapter 2 verse four, Paul makes it very clear that the affairs of life usually entangle us and pull us away from God. Have you ever done that, let the things that really aren't that important take first place in your life other than your Savoir. I know we're all guilty of it, just think as the Titantic was cruising along that evening people worried about how good dinner was going to be and were the chairs straight on the upper deck!! That really mattered didn't it!! I refer back to a lot of things in my life with the songs that I learned growing up as a child. One that jumps out at me today is,I have the joy joy joy joy down in my heart!!!! Jesus, Others, You, that's how you spell JOY !! Try life in that order today and see how things go :-) As always here at Table top ,TGIF !!! Thank God I'm Forgiven

In the book of John, Jesus had just told Peter that he was
going to live to be an old man, but he would die a martyr's death. Immediately, Peter wanted to know if John would receive a better deal so to speak. The Lord's reply was this, If you are to follow Me,that is what you will do,another words if you sign up to be a Christian there's nowhere in the Bible that says it's going to be a blast and a easy road of life. But what Christ does promise is that if we follow Him, He keeps the score, and the " game trophies " of life will be be presented for eternity in heaven, BY HIM!!! These so-called pastors, preachers whatever you want to call them, I know what I call them :-),that are making a buck off of Christs' name, don't worry about it because guess who's going to deal with that. If you sign up to live for Christ, do just that, don't get distracted by others, especially the ones that care a whole lot more about themselves than anybody else.Live for Christ, He's the one that paid the price! Wonder how many of these men and women would drop out of the light of the gospel if Christ told them you're going to die a martyr's death for me :-) Remember the light of the gospel attracts strange bugs, swot em,and move on LOL!!!! Enjoy your Wednesday :-) Its the foot soldiers ,like you and me, that are God's Army, that please Him,not the people that appoint themselves as a 5 star general!!!! Here's a quick thought for the day, Jesus not only bore the cross for us, but He was nailed to it. We should be more than willing to "take it up"for HIM, every day we wake up! Have a great Tuesday :-)
I turned 65 today, trying to figure out how that could be :-). Couldn't help but think about heaven, 65 years will be nothing in eternity. I'm glad my mom gave me a physical birthday 65 years ago, and about 58 years ago I had another birthday. I was born into the family of God by asking Jesus Christ into my heart to be my savior. How I've done on this road of living for Him, that will be for Him to be the judge of that, but I did what he wanted me to do, receiving Him with childlike faith. Trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. I can't thank Him enough for how He's blessed me all these years with four kids of my own, eight and soon to be nine grandchildren, as the hymn says, count your blessings, name them one by one, Dane, Gloria, Porter, Lorelai, Hazen, Avia, Skylie and brand-new Beauden Cove with Oliver Guy arriving in June. I'm going to take this 65th birthday get to see all my kids and grandkids, Praise The Lord and rededicate what years I have left back to Him, hopefully being a faithful servant to Him for all he's done for me. I'll never be able to do for Him what He's done for me,not only by giving His life at Calvary for my sins, but blessing me the way He has!!!! All To Him I Owe!! Have a great Lord's Day :-)
In the first chapter of Romans, Paul put out a warning that you will be held without excuse, if you ignore God,and someday He will reveal Himself, and let the world know just how much that hurt Him!! Don't you wish we'd hear more of that from the pulpit, that God doesn't like being ignored, it will not be a "Yippie I Oh,Cow Pattie Day " when He reveals just how much that hurt Him!!! SELAH!! Take some time today to ignore something that isn't important, and praise the hands that made you. Have a great Thursday!!! Vengeance is mine, saith The Lord, or another way to put it "scared straight"!! Guaranteed you won't hear this at church this weekend, so I thought I'd just refresh your memory !!!! :-) Don't get mad at me, the Apostle Paul wrote it, just as God instructed him too !!!
In Luke chapter 23,it talks about the unnamed thief on the cross next to Jesus, asking Him to please remember him in His kingdom today!! We all know how Jesus answered that question, He said, "Today you will be with me in paradise".
On a cross, at Golgotha, a convicted thief understood eternal life, and that it had nothing to do with what he had done but what Jesus was doing at that very moment for mankind!! Giving His life for our sins. Next time you hear someone saying they don't think they're worth much, please correct them, and tell them they were important enough for the Son of Man to hang on a cross, so that someday they could join Him, and the thief that turned to Christ in faith on that Friday afternoon!!! You have a great day, and continued prayers for my Kelli and Beaudy are muchly appreciated :-) My 8th grandchild, Beauden Cove Langeler, arrived very early this morning, mommy and baby both doing well but if you could pray for Kelli and Beaudy it would be appreciated!!! Last night I had the privilege of watching the two sisters and one brother that make the family of six while mama was giving birth, it went well until that lightning and thunder started, then the two little princesses wanted to join grandpa on the couch!!!
It was precious to me the way they hung on and wouldn't let go, and I thought to myself that's what we do isn't it,in a storm, hang on to our savior and don't let go. That child like faith is the best, nothing will ever take its place. So if you could continue to pray for both of them it would be appreciated, As a grandpa, the blessings I have are in the millions.Happy first day of spring and Congrats, Kelli &Jon !! Luv Ya YA NEED ROOTS, TO HAVE BRANCHES :-)
Enjoy your Lords Day !!!!! Matthew and Mark both tell the story about when Jesus said to Peter, and his brother Andrew, to follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Both stories use the word forsook their nets, another words they stopped what they were doing immediately, to do that which Jesus had asked them to do. When Christ talks to you through your life, listen to him,and don't hesitate to follow him.
Get rid of those nets that are dragging you down, and follow your savior today Enjoy your Saturday :-) At The Cross, At The Cross, Is Where I First Saw "The Light"!!! SELAH. TGIF! THANK GOD I'M FORGIVEN!
Follow His lighted paths, could save you a stumble or two!! |
